Areas of Support
Trauma
This work is supportive and complementary. It is trauma-informed and paced to your nervous system, and it is not a substitute for licensed mental health treatment.
What people experience
- Feeling triggered by situations that seem, on the surface, unrelated to the past.
- Hypervigilance, being easily startled, or difficulty feeling safe even in calm environments.
- Emotional flooding or shutting down, with little middle ground.
- Avoiding people, places, or situations that echo an earlier experience.
- A body that reacts before the mind understands why.
What is happening beneath the surface
- Trauma responses are the nervous system's protective strategies, wired in to prevent a repeat of overwhelming experience.
- The subconscious can generalize danger from a specific past event to a much wider range of present-day situations.
- Fight, flight, freeze, and fawn are automatic survival responses, not choices, and they can persist long after the danger has passed.
- Healing capacity is built gradually. Pushing past what the nervous system can tolerate tends to reinforce the very patterns being addressed.
How Reset Me Journey approaches it
- You bring what feels ready to be worked with. Dr. Verena Young determines which coaching and hypnotherapy approaches are appropriate, always paced and consent-based, always alongside licensed mental health care when needed.
- Work respects nervous system capacity at every step, never pushing past what feels safe to approach.
- Sessions build resourcing and stabilization before, or alongside, any deeper processing.
- This is complementary support. It works in coordination with, not in place of, therapy or medical care when that is part of your picture.
